Why hello there folks! It's been a while since we've written, because we've been deep into wedding planning and the like! It's been a lot of fun and we're getting things done, but it has left us with less time than we'd want for blogging. We aim, however, to try our best to blog at least once a week detailing our adventures. Stay tuned for posts about our wedding.
So... to get on to the post. ;)
As you may know, Valentine's Day is on its way, and cupid is flying every so high in our minds. If you haven't figured it out yet or if you're new to our blog, we love holidays. One of the things we love about holidays is decorating. Since the wedding is on its way, we are collecting every dollar (and penny) we can to fund it, and in exchange of V-Day gifts we are giving each other the gift of a DIY. So, if your budget is tight but you have a few bucks to spare, this is a good DIY for one or both of you to participate in or even for friends. It's cool enough to stay up longer than just Valentine's Day. It was also a ton of fun to make together.
What you'll need:
Step 1. Paint the board.
Step 2. Find a template of a heart online and print it out.
Step 3. Hammer nails around the outline of the template.
Step 4. String yarn through the nails (weaving in and out in crossed patterns).
Step 5. Draw circles on the back of the board, where you would like the LED lights to go through. Try to make this as random as possible.
Step 6. Drill through to the other side. Pull it out immediately once it goes through to not mess up the yarn.
Step 7. Put the lights through and tape the loose LED's and battery pack to the back.
Step 8. Hang it and marvel at the beauty!
We hope you guys enjoy this one & we hope you do too! Let us know if you try it out! :)
